Ideal for complete beginner or enthusiasts. The introduction course spans 6 weeks and in it we will teach you the fundamentals of creative photography. We will get to grips with all the technical aspects that you need to master your camera and get comfortable with manual shooting modes.

The class is split into two sections each week.
Firstly, is the technical where we were go through all the technical know how you need to really master photography. The second section is called ‘Photographers Eye’ and here we look at some of the history and masters of photography, leaning on their work to illustrate various technical aspects of photography.
We believe it is very important (yet often overlooked) to look at photography as an art form and to learn about those photographer's who have shaped it's history. It can be an incredible source of inspiration and help you understand how to develop your own eye and style. Some of the photographers we talk about include: Henri-Cartier Bresson, Elliot Erwitt, Steve McCurry Alec Soth and many more.
Some of the topics covered in the introduction class:
Shooting on the manual modes
Mastering Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO.
Developing your style.
Each week students are given homework assignments.
A photo walk is organized (usually on a weekend suitable to the students) to put into practice some of the techniques.
We also have a chance to use some of the studio facilities and experiment with studio lighting.
The class takes places on Wednesdays over a 6 week period.
Each lesson lasts 3 hours starting at 19.00 and finishing at 22.00
Students are encouraged to bring a bite to eat during the break in order to avoid hangriness and we provide tea, coffee and cookies.
